Isa 63:1 Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah?
this that is glorious in his apparel, traveling in the greatness of his
strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.
Isa 63:2 Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that
treadeth in the wine vat?
Isa 63:3 I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none
with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and
their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my
raiment.
Isa 63:4 For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed
is come.
We see a picture here of the future return of Jesus Christ in judgment
against the enemies of His people. These are those that have knowingly rejected
God's plan of salvation to the point of killing and persecuting all who believe
in Jesus. This also is judgment upon those that have persecuted the Jewish
people. This is Jesus who comes to save Israel after the armies of the
world are gathered against Israel at the battle of Armageddon.
Isa 63:5 And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was
none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury,
it upheld me.
I believe this may mean that in the day the Lord returns in vengeance with the
armies of heaven (Those faithful believers who had part in the first
resurrection and rapture of the church), there are no nations that help the
Lord. The USA seems at this time to no longer help Israel and may even be
part of the armies gathering against her. It could also mean the the
United States received judgment already and either was weakened or no longer in
existence.
Isa 63:6 And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth.
No matter how great and mighty the nations have become, they cannot defeat
the Lord.
Isa 63:7 I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the
LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness
toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his
mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.
Isa 63:8 For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so
he was their Savior.
Israel recognized Christ as savior and gives thanks that God remembered them and came to save them.
Isa 63:9 In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bore them, and carried them all the days of old.
When we persecute Israel or any child of God it is the same as persecuting
the Lord Himself. "In as much as you done it to the least of these my
brethren, you have done it unto me." words of Jesus.
Isa 63:10 But they rebelled, and vexed his Holy Spirit: therefore he was turned
to be their enemy, and he fought against them.
Israel in the past rebelled many times and the Lord would deliver them. The tribulation period will be the last and final time of the trouble of Israel. They will mourn and weep when they discover that the same Jesus their ancestors crucified is the true Messiah they had hoped would come.
Isa 63:11 Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where is he that put his Holy Spirit within him?
People would long for the days when God led them in the wilderness by Moses
under the leading of the Holy Spirit. All who truly desire to be filled
with God's spirit can be.
Isa 63:12 That led them by the right hand of Moses with his glorious arm,
dividing the water before them, to make himself an everlasting name?
Isa 63:13 That led them through the deep, as a horse in the wilderness, that
they should not stumble?
Isa 63:14 As a beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused
him to rest: so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.
Christ Himself was with them in the wilderness.
1Corinthians 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they
drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
By the time Jesus Christ came into the flesh and preached among them, they did not recognize Him even though He was with them before.
Isa 63:15 Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of thy holiness
and of thy glory: where is thy zeal and thy strength, the sounding of thy bowels
and of thy mercies toward me? are they restrained?
Isa 63:16 Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and
Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, art our father, our redeemer; thy name
is from everlasting.
Isa 63:17 O LORD, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our
heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants' sake, the tribes of thine
inheritance.
Isa 63:18 The people of thy holiness have possessed it but a little while: our
adversaries have trodden down thy sanctuary.
Isa 63:19 We are thine: thou never didst bear rule over them; they were not
called by thy name.
They were cut off because of unbelief and it seemed as if God had forsaken them. Many including some in the church believe that God has permanently replaced Israel with the church but not so. Bible prophecy foretells of the salvation of Israel and that they will recognized Jesus Christ at His second coming.
